ABOUT ARTINA

Hey everyone, I'm Artina!

Experienced Maryland Real Estate Agent with Legal and Housing Expertise

I am a lifelong Maryland resident with deep roots in Owings Mills and Baltimore County. With a passion for serving my community, I have built a diverse career combining legal expertise, housing enforcement, and real estate. After graduating from Kenwood IB High School, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from St. John’s University, followed by a Master’s in Criminal Justice from Coppin State University.

My legal career began as a paralegal at The Law Office of Derrick G. Hamlin before I transitioned to the Maryland State Police. There, I worked closely with the Attorney General and the Forensic Science Department to help create impactful new legislation. Over the years, I honed my skills in housing law and legal processes as a paralegal in the Department of Housing Code Enforcement, where I played a pivotal role in enforcing the Housing Code and supporting the Blight Elimination Program. My work helped improve local communities, making them safer and better places to live, work, and invest.

In addition to my extensive experience in housing code enforcement, I have served as a contracts paralegal for government agencies and Johns Hopkins University, negotiating and drafting complex contracts both domestically and internationally.

My time working with homeowners, investors, and the court systems sparked an interest in real estate, leading me to become a licensed real estate agent with Long & Foster. My deep knowledge of contracts, housing regulations, and local markets makes me a valuable partner for clients in buying and selling real estate.

As a member of The McNeil Group, my commitment to providing exceptional service, attention to detail, and personalized care sets me apart in the competitive real estate industry. Whether you are buying your first home, selling a property, or investing in real estate, my dedication to my clients and my unwavering work ethic will help you achieve your goals.

Trust me to bring my legal expertise, passion for housing, and experience in real estate to your next property transaction. With me, you're not just getting a real estate agent – you're getting a dedicated professional who will work tirelessly for you.

5 Essential Tips for Homebuyers: A Guide to Making Your Dream Home a Reality

Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions you'll make, but it doesn't have to be overwhelming. Here are 5 essential tips to help you navigate the process and make informed decisions:

1. Get Pre-Approved for a Mortgage

Before you start shopping for homes, it’s crucial to get pre-approved for a mortgage. This step will give you a clear understanding of your budget and show sellers that you're a serious buyer

2. Understand Your Needs vs. Wants

Take time to identify your needs and wants in a home. Consider factors like location, size, and proximity to schools or work (the “needs”), versus features like a pool or gourmet kitchen (the “wants”).

3. Don’t Skip the Home Inspection

Even if the home looks perfect at first glance, always have a professional home inspector examine the property.

4. Consider Long-Term Value

When choosing a home, think about its long-term value. Will the property appreciate over time? Are there plans for future development that could affect your investment?

5. Work with an Experienced Real Estate Agent

5 Essential Tips for Home Sellers: A Guide to Maximizing Your Sale

Selling your home can feel like a daunting task. Here are 5 essential tips to help you navigate the process and get the most out of your sale:

1. Set the Right Price

Pricing your home correctly is one of the most important factors in selling quickly and for a great price. A realtor will help you assess comparable properties in the area and set a competitive price.

2. Make a Great First Impression

First impressions matter! Ensure your home is inviting from the moment buyers arrive. Consider curb appeal—trim the lawn, add fresh plants, and clean up the exterior. Inside, declutter, clean thoroughly, and make minor repairs.

3. Market Your Home Effectively

High-quality photos, virtual tours, and detailed listings can make all the difference in attracting potential buyers.

4. Be Flexible with Showings and Negotiations

The more accessible your home is for showings, the more opportunities you'll have to find the right buyer. Additionally, be prepared for negotiations. Buyers may ask for repairs, credits, or other concessions, so it’s important to remain open.

5. Work with a Skilled Real Estate Agent

An experienced real estate agent can help you navigate the complexities of selling your home.
